Jihad Ahmed

Philadelphia, PA

Jihad has been a host on Islam Today for over ten years. Born and raised in South Philadelphia and a graduate of South Philly High, Jihad is both a board member and strong community advocate at UMM. Jihad has made Hajj (pilgrimage) twice and Umrah  (lesser Hajj) on many occasions. An accomplished videographer and producer in his own right, Jihad has hosted such lively guest on his program as Joe Jackson famous father of the Jackson Clan to scholars from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. When you tune into Jihad's show, you can look forward to a lively discourse on a diverse Islamic platform that touches all branches and elements of contemporary society. 

Mu'min Islam

Philadelphia, PA

Mu'min F. Islam is the founding member of MFI Law Group, PLLC and focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury, agency and SROs litigation, and general corporate. 
Mr. Islam has significant experience representing clients with personal injury matters. Whether it involves premises liability, intentional torts, medical malpractice, or automobile accidents, Mr. Islam represents them all. In addition, Mr. Islam represents clients involved with government agency regulatory actions and special education litigation. 
Mr. Islam's practice also involves the representation of business entities of various sizes. Advising clients on proper entity selection, solicitation and raising of capital, and employment agreements are key aspects of Mr. Islam's corporate practice. 

Prior to forming MFI, Mr. Islam was an associate in the Business Department of one of Philadelphia's largest law firms, concentrating on securities matters, healthcare, general corporate work. Mr. Islam has also co-authored several articles on corporate matters ranging from securities laws to non-profit laws in legal publications. 

  

Kameelah Mu'Min Rashad, MS, MRP, MEd

​Kameelah is the Founder and President of Muslim Wellness Foundation (MWF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing mental health stigma and promoting healing in the American Muslim community through dialogue, education and training. Muslim Wellness Foundation envisions a future in which faith communities are at the forefront of mental health advocacy and committed to developing an inclusive culture of compassion, understanding and holistic health.

Kameelah also serves as the Fellow for Spirituality, Wellness and Social Justice at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and advisor for Penn Sapelo, the first Black Muslim Student organization on campus. In this capacity, Kameelah supports students in their exploration of faith-based activism, spirituality, emotional well-being and healing.  Working in conjunction with the Chaplain’s Office, she collaborates with other cultural centers on campus to facilitate intersectional conversations on race, religion, identity, belonging and advocacy. Kameelah served three years as the Muslim Chaplain at UPenn and continues to facilitate discussions on religious identity development and challenges faced by American Muslim youth. She is also a resource to the wider Penn community and administration on Islam and Muslims.

Qasim Rashad

Philadelphia, PA

Qasim Rashad was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Qasim obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dillard University in New Orleans, LA. While attending school in New Orleans, Qasim developed an appreciation for both the performance and visual arts. New Orleans’ rich tapestry of old world Southern gentile, Afro-Creole and Euro artistic influences made a great impression and resonates in him to this day.

In 1991 the 1st of Ramadan Qasim embraced Islam and two years later made his first of two  Pilgrimages to Mecca, Saudi Arabia known as the Hajj. Currently, Qasim owns a small technology company, Final Mile Technologies, and volunteers countless hours in his beloved community UMM. As Amir of one of the most dynamic Islamic communities in the city of Philadelphia, which was founded by one of his mentors Brother Kenny Gamble of Philadelphia International Records, Qasim volunteers countless hours to help in the growth and development of the young vibrant jamaat.

He puts his talent for oration to good use as a live host and commentator on radio for the only black talk radio platform in Philadelphia, W.U.R.D. 900AM, on Saturdays. Qasim is also a co-owner of Nur Media a small production group dedicated to developing, producing, and supporting media projects with positive images. More recently, Nur Media organize and hosted the Philadelphia premier of the film Deen-Tight by director Mustafa Davis, which received International, accolades in the Muslim world. Nur Media also hosted Qasim Basir the writer & director of the movie Mooz-lum starring Nia Long, Evan Ross and Danny Glover for the film’s Philly premier. Nur Media has produced a dynamic documentary hit “Ask A Muslim”.
